More than just a Schloßfest group

Pretty much every Schloßfest visitor knows us and has heard our music before. But what many people don’t realise is that we are known far beyond the borders of Neuburg, Bavaria and even Germany. In addition to our appearances at Weiberfasching, Fischergasslerfest and Schloßfest, we are booked or invited an average of 4-5 times a year. These include festivals at friendly clubs, such as in Heidelberg, Bretten, Gernlinden or Teningen, as well as events such as the castle festival in Kaprun or Burghausen. But we also regularly make the long journeys to our twin towns in Jesenik and Séte to perform there. You can find a list of our venues in recent years here.

But nothing works without diligence – so rehearsals take place every Monday and Friday throughout the year, either divided by instrument or as a whole band. Under the direction of Rainer Bartsch, every piece is internalised. The same naturally applies to the flag-wavers, who rehearse their swing sequences and throws.

Our rehearsals are held in the Amalienhof during the summer months and in the Maria Ward School during the winter months. This is ideal, as our clubhouse is located in the Fürstengang, which we renovated in 1999 and now offers us very inviting rooms with historical flair thanks to countless gifts and souvenirs from our many performances.

The fanfare band is divided into the following three groups:

Flag wavers

18 active members

Drummer

20 active members

Wind instruments

38 active members

We also have 54 passive and 20 supporting members.
